Dear Diary,

Following up on our Fashion Icon of the Week segment we have (drum roll, please) Victoria Beckham! The former spice girl is a fashion force to be reckoned with. She has just created a new line of denim that is “stamped with an urban cool attitude.” They are a slim-fitting skinny, with its very own desirable style. Her signature “V” is featured on each back pocket. They come in a variety of washes from fresh ice blue to stone gray and charcoal. The fashionista says,” No stylish wardrobe is complete without a great pair of jeans that you can wear everywhere, they’re an absolute must have for the contemporary fashion lover and they’re definitely a foundation piece in my wardrobe.”

Fashion Icon of the Week...

Dear Diary,

What better way to pay homage to the ones who rule the fashion industry than a "Fashion Icon of the Week" segment. What better way to start this segment off than celebrity stylist/designer and author, June Ambrose. Though she started her career working at an investment banking firm, she landed an internship through a friend at Uptown MCA Records. There she became a fashion stylist. Since then, she’s worked with everyone in hip hop and has brought high fashion and luxury looks to an industry profiled as low-budget and street. She has styled for artists like Missy Elliot, P. Diddy, Jay Z, Hype Williams, Busta Rhymes just to name a few. Through her countless accomplishments, New York Magazine has dubbed her a modern-day hip hop Holly Golightly. Her website, juneambrose.com put it best, “Ambrose has left an indelible mark on today’s youth, inspiring countless trends and major fashion statements.” Now owner of her own full-service styling firm Mode Squad, Inc., she says,” Fashion is about self-expression and also a statement about our times”. Spoken like a true fashionista; I couldn’t agree more. There’s no doubt why the Joli team has chosen her as their Fashion Muse. Don't forget to check out her book entitled "EFFORTLESS STYLE".

Just in case...

Dear Diary,

Sorry, I haven't kept in touch lately. Things have been a little hectic, but with a little sacrifice comes greater outcomes. Anyway, with such a busy schedule I did manage to catch the Victoria Secret Fashion Show on CBS that was on Dec. 1. I must say it was wonderful. Eye on the prize...

Dear Diary and other viewers,
Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am the Fly on the Wall. I manage to sneak into all of the Joli team meetings and other events that they have or attend. Why do I do all of this you may wonder. Well, it's because I thought it'd be a great idea to bring all you curious followers with me behind the scenes of their progress. You guys can then see all of the hardwork, dedication and passion that's been put into this line. Back to business, today was extremely productive. I followed some of the Joli team as they paid a visit to the dressmakers. It was exciting to see one of the faces of Joli get measured. This now means that the pieces can begin to come to life! I snagged these pictures for you guys. :)

1st impressions are EVERYTHING...

Dear Diary,
The other day I snuck my way into the meeting of the Diary of Joli team. It was quite an experience. So many creative minds collaborating for one big goal. The work seems overwhelming but the determination that these young people have is greater. I managed to snag a lot of juicy information for you guys. They plan to launch their
2010 Fall collection in February. They are an American brand that is chic,upscale, and risk-taking but not over the top. They are coming up with names for each piece that will be in the show. Also, there’s a blog talk radio that airs on Tuesdays at 8:45 p.m. on blogtalkradio.com/bxradio. I am super excited to bring you guys all the dish that I can manage to dig up. Until we meet again.

Making Headway

Simon Fashion Show

The Houston Galleria put on a spectacular fashion show highlighting some of their best retail stores. After the show was a spectacular after party at Billy Reid.

Accessories Coming Soon!

Joli' is planning to launch our accessory line in the near future. Since Joli' is in such high demand we thought that we should introduce an accessories line as a pre show of what to expect from the Fall 2010 Collection. I can't give away all the secrets so I will just give you one word...feathers!

Team Joli' has been meeting furiously in order to prepare for our Fall 2010 Collection. Business meeting after business meeting, Joli' is working around the clock non-stop to provide the best in women's ready-to-wear.

New York Fashion Week

The greatest minds in fashion gather twice a year for the biggest fashion event of the year. This year the creative director for Joli' represented the brand at New York Fashion Week. Thursday night kicked off fashion week with Fashion Night Out. This event is designed to promote retailers and increase their sales. It was like a fashion block party on 5th ave. Editor-IN-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, was spotted racing through the streets of NY looking fab. Joli' also had the pleasure of attending the Laura Smalls show hosted by the Editor-At-Large, Andre Leon Talley. The guest list included A list celebrities, editors, and stylist. Fashion was nothing without attending the DVF show at Bryant Park. Joli' will soon have our turn.
